Polak Bros were based in London from 1875 to 1880, and traded from this address; 17 Rathbone Place, Oxford Street between 1876-1879. The business was run by James and Isaac Polak, who both came from Belgium. The frame is classic example of a Victorian heavily compo ornamented cove.
