Alfred Stiles & Sons, Ltd.
Established 1870, traded from this address 1931-1962, a leading London framemakers who made frames for artists such as Ivon Hitchens, Sir William Russell Flint, Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, John Piper, and Graham Sutherland. (information from the National Portrait Gallery) They also made frames for Sir Winston Churchill, incidentally it was announced today his portrait will feature on a new UK banknote from 2016.
